Quentin is an Organisational (Business) Psychologist, executive coach and trainer-facilitator. He is registered with The New Zealand Psychologists Board, a mandatory requirement under the Health Practioners Assurance Act 2003, as well as a member of the NZPysh Society. He is Level A, B and C psychometrics qualified, which entitles him to use a wide variety of psychological tools including instruments like the WAIS-R, Ability Tests, Personality Questionnaires, 360 feedback and Emotional Intelligence tools.
The role of coaching, training and individual development has gone hand-in-hand throughout Quentin’s career, be it in the Military, or in leadership or consultancy roles in the public or private sectors. It has, and continues to be, a passion of his. He is keen to share his knowledge and support others to encourage the use of best practice. While recently engaged with a “Blue Chip” UAE organisation, Quentin was pivotal in promoting a coaching culture, creating a leadership-development capability and managing accelerated programmes for National talent and other High Potentials. He is also an accomplished sportsman and brings many of the lessons learnt through his own endeavours to the coaching domain.
Quentin has considerable experience in other areas as well. Individual assessment for selection and development, managing assessment centres, designing and delivering workshops and counselling have been central to his previous leadership and consulting roles. He also has particular experience with the trials and tribulations of Performance Management, having headed the department for a large UAE organisation.
Quentin brings over 28 years of experience as a specialist HR professional, starting his career as a Military Psychologist with the NZ Defence Psychology Unit back in 1989, rising to the position of Major, Senior Psychologist / HR specialist and manager before relocating to the Middle East, seventeen years ago. His experience spans across Defence departments, Government entities, multi-national companies and small to medium enterprises in the fields of operations, Business Psychology, selection, coaching, mentoring, leadership development, performance management, and learning and development. His experience has included a broad range of projects such as Critical Incident Debriefing, developing and implementing operational frameworks, and an attaché of the NZ Government’s ‘Foreign Affairs’ assistance programmes with the governments of Papua New Guinea and Fiji.
Seventeen years of this experience has been in the Middle East, building skills and capability as a consultant psychologist , coach and trainer. Nine of these years were spent within a UAE “Blue Chip” organisation where he headed the Performance Management team and was an integral driver of change management, management development and coaching programmes at all levels, Emiratisation, accelerated development and learning programmes for Emirati Nationals and other High Potentials.

Stepping into the unknown can be scary. Focusing on relationship building, trust and inspiring paradigm shifts in thinking provides the solid foundation for individuals embarking on a journey of personal development. Quentin’s natural talent in building relationships with people, be it with senior leadership, Middle management or non-supervisory, facilitates this process. Quentin has been described as inspirational and calming particularly when clients have felt at risk or challenged. Although Quentin’s approach is practical, tailored and based on the cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused frameworks, he likes to apply an eclectic approach using techniques and tools from other theoretical backgrounds that he believes will help clients clarify their goals, and gain insight into how their beliefs, values, and motivations drive their behaviours and future success.
